Pakistan will not provide any base to US: PM Imran Khan
In an interview with a US TV channel, he said it was not possible for Pakistan to allow the CIA or US Special Forces to operate in Afghanistan from Pakistani soil.
Prime Minister said that the United States wanted to keep an eye on the militants in other countries during and after the withdrawal from Afghanistan, so the United States was engaged in talks with Pakistan for cooperation.
A few days before Prime Minister Imran Khan’s interview, Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry had termed the news of US air base in Pakistan as baseless and said that there was no truth in such rumors.
A statement issued by the State Department said such statements should be avoided. There has been a communication framework between Pakistan and the United States since 2001, and the Airline Communications (ALOC) has been in operation since 2001. The Foreign Office said in a statement that Pakistan has not entered into a new agreement with the United States.
