Network involved in Johar Town blast arrested, IG Punjab
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Inam Ghani said that Punjab police have arrested the entire network involved in the Johar Town blast.
According to details, Inspector General (IG) Punjab Inam Ghani said that the accused could not proceed due to police check post. Hours after the blast, they arrived at the scene.
After identifying the vehicle, they reached the accused. He also said that anti-national elements use people for terrorism, every year 20 to 25 possible incidents of terrorism are thwarted, help is sought by enticing the general public for terrorism.
IG Punjab Police further said that the vehicle used in the blast was snatched in 2010. The accused had documents of delivery of the vehicle. The accused is from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a resident of Punjab. The Fourth Schedule includes the name of the accused.
He further said that 10 people involved in the blast are in our custody. The anti-state agency has also been identified in this terrorism. JIT has been formed for further investigation of the blast. We immediately rushed to the spot. Obtained evidence from the blast. Facilitators of the incident have also been arrested.
IG Punjab Police said that the driver of the vehicle has also been arrested, identification of masterminds of the incident has been completed, previous criminal record of the accused is also being checked, high profile cases have been traced in the province.
In this regard, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that terrorists and facilitators will be brought to justice. This is a trial case. The CTD identified those responsible for the blast within 16 hours and security forces arrested the suspects within four days. He also said that the arrest of all the accused in the Johar Town blast was a great achievement. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a car packed with explosives. The Johar Town blast killed three people and injured 22
. The Punjab Chief Minister further said that external and internal characters have been identified in the blast. The anti-national agency was directly involved in the Johar Town blast. The anti-national agency provided financial assistance to the characters of the blast.
On the other hand, Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the security agencies had arrested the accused in the Johar Town blast and the Punjab Chief Minister himself had supervised all the operations.
